Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 Z300 in India as a new naked motorcycle positioned between the Z125 and Z500. It is based on the Ninja 300 and uses a 296cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. Kawasaki quotes 39.5bhp at 11,000rpm and 19.3lb-ft at 10,000rpm, putting the Z300 into the same broad conversation as the KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03.

An oxygen sensor in the exhaust system is used for emissions management. The engine also features a sleeveless, plated die-cast aluminium cylinder and lightweight coated pistons. Kawasaki has designed the radiator fan cover to send hot air away from the rider, a detail aimed at making the bike more comfortable in everyday conditions.

Chassis and equipment

The new instrument panel is a full LCD unit showing vehicle speed and engine rpm, with a bar-style tachometer incorporated into the display. At the front, 37mm telescopic forks handle suspension duties. The rear uses a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak shock with adjustable spring preload.

Braking hardware consists of a 290mm front disc paired with a dual-piston caliper, while the rear wheel uses a 220mm disc and another dual-piston caliper. ABS is included. The equipment list also brings a new triple LED headlight assembly and a seat angled slightly forward, giving the Z300 a distinct position within Kawasaki’s naked range.

The available finishes are Candy Lime Green and Metallic Carbon Grey. India is the first confirmed market for the motorcycle, a logical starting point for a small-capacity model in a country where such bikes are widely used for everyday transport, including in densely populated cities. Kawasaki has not yet confirmed whether the Z300 will be offered in the UK or elsewhere in Europe.
