Harley-Davidson has released the first teaser images of the Sprint 440, a compact cruiser developed with Hero MotoCorp under the “Back to Bricks” plan. The motorcycle has not yet received its full official presentation, but the images now provide a clear first look at its design. The model was first mentioned in May, making these teasers the first indication of how the finished motorcycle is intended to look.

Traditional cruiser cues in a compact format

The Sprint 440 has a low, extended profile, a handlebar that sweeps rearward, a round headlamp and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Its seat features a pronounced dip, while the rear mudguard appears to carry both the number-plate bracket and the indicators. The visual approach is unmistakably that of a classic cruiser, but scaled below Harley-Davidson’s larger motorcycles.

Expected mechanical link to the X440

The engine forecast for the Sprint 440 is a 440 cc single-cylinder unit producing 27 horsepower and 38 Nm of torque, with a six-speed gearbox, matching the X440’s layout. The motorcycle is also expected to retain the X440’s main frame and engine architecture, while using different chassis components and its own styling. Harley-Davidson has not confirmed the final specification, so these figures should be treated as an indication rather than a final technical sheet.

Premiere, price and markets

The projected price is approximately $6,000, although that figure has not been officially confirmed. A global premiere is expected at EICMA in Milan in November, with the Indian launch anticipated for early 2027. Hero MotoCorp will build the motorcycle in India, and the Sprint 440 could become the first X440-platform model exported internationally. Harley-Davidson’s Asia-Pacific website places it in the 2027 model range and identifies the Philippines and Malaysia as markets.
