Yamaha is refreshing the 2027 XSR900 range visually rather than mechanically. Announced on 15 October, the new colours bring Neon White to the XSR900 and Legend Blue to the XSR900 GP. Midnight Black remains available for the XSR900, while the GP continues with Legend Yellow as an alternative.

Two schemes, two different references

The standard XSR900 pairs a satin-white finish with a brushed-silver Deltabox frame, pink detailing and electric-blue graphics. Yamaha links the scheme to the 1993 YZF750R. The GP takes a more overtly racing-inspired route, using light-blue speedblocks on the tank and side panels, yellow stripes, and yellow number plates at the front and on the seat. The design recalls Christian Sarron’s Sonauto Yamaha. Sarron won the 250cc world championship in 1984 and continued racing until 1990.

The CP3 engine and electronics stay put

Both motorcycles continue with Yamaha’s 890 cc CP3 three-cylinder engine, producing approximately 119 horsepower and 93 Nm of torque. The XSR900 weighs 193 kilograms; the XSR900 GP weighs 200 kilograms. An IMU supports traction, slide and front-wheel-lift management according to the motorcycle’s lean angle. The specification also includes a third-generation quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, a 5-inch colour display with navigation supplied through a connected smartphone, and cruise control.

Pricing and timing

Yamaha has not announced pricing for the 2027 models and says that prices and deliveries vary by region. An Italian arrival during the first quarter of 2027 has been indicated, while another estimate places dealer availability from June. The timetable therefore remains unconfirmed. Current Italian prices are cited at €11,799 for the XSR900 and €13,499 for the XSR900 GP, but those are reference prices for the current range, not announced 2027 prices.
