Red Bull will be the title sponsor of MotoGP’s new Adelaide event in 2027 and 2028. The race will take over from Phillip Island after the current season and is scheduled to be the penultimate round of the following season.

The inaugural meeting will use a temporary circuit laid out in parkland in central Adelaide. It will give the Australian round a different setting, moving MotoGP from an established circuit to a track embedded in the city. The announcement refers to the event as the “Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia in Adelaide”.

A new role for Adelaide on the calendar

Carlos Ezpeleta, MotoGP’s deputy chief executive, described Australia as one of the championship’s most important and passionate markets. He said the city circuit would put the sport at the heart of Adelaide and create a distinctive experience for spectators, teams and riders. Red Bull has already held title-sponsor status at this season’s COTA and San Marino rounds.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas called the agreement a major endorsement of Adelaide’s first MotoGP event. He said the partnership could bring substantial international exposure and help establish the city as a destination on the MotoGP calendar. Phillip Island is due to host its final MotoGP round in two weeks, with that event currently listed without a title sponsor.
