Razgatlioglu: Loss of shoulder strength is the biggest problem
The Pramac Yamaha rider returned to action after dislocating his right shoulder, but expects a difficult 27-lap race at Mandalika.

Toprak Razgatlioglu will have to manage more than pain in Sunday’s Indonesian Grand Prix. The Pramac Yamaha rider says the dislocated right shoulder has also lost strength after being put back into place, leaving him without the same power in his arm as before. That weakness could be decisive over the 27 laps at Mandalika.
The weekend had started positively, with Razgatlioglu believing Friday’s progress gave him a chance of pursuing his season target of a top-ten finish. That outlook changed in final practice, when he highsided from his Yamaha M1. The heavy landing dislocated his right shoulder, which was put back into place before he returned to the paddock.
After visiting the medical centre, Razgatlioglu went back on track for qualifying and the Sprint. He started and finished 19th, saying that he had raced with painkillers but still felt the pain again towards the end. The result underlined the physical challenge awaiting him in the longer Sunday race.
Razgatlioglu also expects Mandalika’s frequent direction changes to place extra demands on the injured shoulder. Hot conditions will add to the difficulty, while the loss of strength is a more serious obstacle than pain alone. He will try to complete the 27-lap Grand Prix, although he has already described the task as extremely difficult.
