Razgatlioglu heads for MRI after shoulder dislocation
The Pramac Yamaha rider retired at Mandalika and is hoping to avoid surgery before the Phillip Island round.

Toprak Razgatlioglu will have an MRI on his right shoulder after returning to Turkey, following the dislocation he suffered at Mandalika. The Pramac Yamaha rider was hurt in a highside on Saturday morning, yet still made it back for qualifying and took 19th place in the Sprint. It was a difficult turn in a weekend that had initially suggested steady progress for the MotoGP rookie.
The shoulder became more troublesome on Sunday. Razgatlioglu started the Indonesian Grand Prix but pulled out on lap nine of 27 as the pain intensified and he lost strength and movement. He explained that the main limitation was not the pain alone: after the dislocation, the lack of power in the shoulder was more serious. Switching direction through turns 7–8 and 13–14 proved especially demanding. He also described an unusual sensation in the joint, with even a small movement making it feel as if the shoulder might come out again.
Razgatlioglu is hoping to avoid an operation and recover with rest in time for the next race. The MRI and the doctors’ assessment will provide the next medical information about the injury. The next MotoGP round is scheduled for Phillip Island on October 23–25. The retirement was a particularly frustrating conclusion for the Turkish rider, who felt he had been improving from one day to the next before the crash changed the weekend. His team-mate Jack Miller also failed to finish the Mandalika race.
