MotoGP is creating the MotoGP Academy, a worldwide network of racing schools intended to strengthen the Road to MotoGP pathway for young riders. The initiative is aimed particularly at regions described by MotoGP as underserved, meaning markets where resources may not be as extensive as they are elsewhere.

The plan is designed to give riders greater exposure to the sport and a structured environment in which to develop and learn. Each academy will also serve as a local MotoGP hub and an ambassador for motorcycle racing, extending the sport’s presence and helping it reach a wider audience.

Entry standards and direct backing

Joining the network will require more than simply offering a training venue. Prospective providers must meet rigorous requirements covering infrastructure, training methodology, technical execution and brand visibility. MotoGP says it will invest directly in every successful provider, supplying tailored toolkits, activation and branding support, along with exclusive discounts on MotoGP products.

The academies will be named after their country, region or continent, using an approach comparable to that of the FIM MotoMini World Series. Larger nations and markets could host multiple MotoGP Academies, while smaller countries could have one national Academy as their central hub. The programme will focus on key markets for the sport and on regions considered to have greater room for growth.
