Jack Miller finally breaks into the Sprint points at Phillip Island
Seventh place on the Pramac Yamaha came in his last home appearance as a MotoGP rider.

Jack Miller ended his wait for a Sprint points finish by taking seventh at Phillip Island. The Pramac Yamaha rider had put himself in a strong position before the short race, qualifying fifth on the Yamaha M1 in mixed conditions.
Yamaha’s cornering strengths were particularly useful around the circuit, helping Miller offset some of the bike’s deficit on top speed. He said the wind had switched direction compared with the previous day, making the opening laps feel like an exercise in learning the track again. Miller first tried to stay with Pedro Acosta in the fight for fifth after moving past Johann Zarco. Brad Binder then came through, setting up a repeated exchange of ground: Miller was vulnerable on the straight but could close back in through the faster corners by carrying momentum.
A meaningful final home MotoGP appearance
Miller was nevertheless positive about the Yamaha’s behaviour in dry conditions and said he had ridden a clean race without mistakes. Seventh marked his first Sprint points of the season, while also carrying particular significance away from the championship table. This was Miller’s final home appearance as a MotoGP rider. The Australian Grand Prix will leave Phillip Island for Adelaide in 2027, and Miller is expected to return to Phillip Island that year as a WorldSBK rider.
The home support was visible around the circuit, with the fences filled by spectators. Miller slowed down on his in-lap to acknowledge them, giving the result an added emotional dimension at the end of his MotoGP home chapter at Phillip Island.
