Honda has confirmed that Red Bull will return to its factory MotoGP team for the 2027 season. The multi-year agreement will put Red Bull branding prominently back on Honda HRC’s motorcycles, while Castrol will retain its role as the team’s title sponsor.

Honda and Red Bull first worked together in 2015, and that partnership ended when Marc Marquez left Honda at the end of 2023. Their reunion arrives alongside the championship’s next technical phase: from 2027, MotoGP will use 850cc motorcycles under a new set of regulations.

What it means for Fabio Quartararo

The deal also has a direct sponsorship impact on Fabio Quartararo. The 2021 world champion has been a Monster Energy athlete since entering MotoGP with Petronas SRT Yamaha in 2019. With Honda now formally aligned with Red Bull, Quartararo’s Monster Energy partnership is expected to end after the 2026 season.

HRC president Koji Watanabe described Red Bull as a partner sharing Honda’s goals, ambitions and demanding standards, and stressed the importance of that relationship as the 850cc era approaches. Outgoing HRC team manager Alberto Puig linked the reunion to the new motorcycles, regulations and targets, with victory remaining the objective.

Red Bull already holds the title-sponsor role with the factory KTM team and the satellite Tech3 operation. There are also rumours of a wider MotoGP expansion, with Ducati and riders Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta mentioned as possible future links. Those scenarios remain unconfirmed and are separate from the partnership Honda has now announced.
