Ducati considers the front-brake problem on Marc Marquez’s motorcycle resolved after it affected his Austrian Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion could manage only fifth at the Red Bull Ring, and later said he was fortunate to reach the finish. The consequence was significant in the championship standings as well: Jorge Martin took second place in Austria, leaving Marquez 12 points behind him.

The technical fix remains undisclosed

Davide Tardozzi said Ducati now knows what happened and has taken steps to prevent the issue from returning. Although he described the situation as clear, Ducati has not explained what caused the failure or what corrective work was carried out. Tardozzi labelled Austria a missed opportunity within a 22-race championship and expects Marquez to attack from the opening stages at Motegi.

Ducati will try to run ahead of its rivals in Japan, with Tardozzi reiterating the podium as the target for every race. The Indonesian round is expected to be more difficult: Michelin’s stiffer rear-tyre carcass is returning, and Marquez has never completed a main race at Mandalika. Ducati accepts that some rivals may be faster in Indonesia, but Tardozzi still believes Marquez can produce something exceptional.
