Dizziness interrupts Joan Mir’s MotoGP return at Sepang
The HRC rider retired from tenth place on lap nine as symptoms returned during his first race after missing four rounds.

Joan Mir’s MotoGP comeback at Sepang ended early when dizziness returned during the Grand Prix. The factory HRC rider retired from tenth place on lap nine of 20, with the race taking place in 36-degree heat.
Mir had missed the previous four rounds while receiving treatment for fatigue-related vision problems. His return had initially offered encouraging signs: he went straight through to Qualifying 2 on Friday, then placed 16th in the Sprint. The rain-interrupted race required a pit stop for Mir to change to his wet bike.
After the Grand Prix, Mir said he was still experiencing some dizziness and that further work was needed to solve the problem. He also described his disappointment, explaining that the issue that had kept him out for the previous four races had returned even though the rest of his weekend had gone well.
Luca Marini was Honda’s leading rider in the race, taking seventh place. Mir is set to return to the track on Friday at the Qatar Grand Prix, where his physical condition will remain central to his next appearance.
