Bezzecchi wins at Mandalika as Aprilia sweeps the front four
Marco Bezzecchi won the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix, Aprilia filled the top four and Jorge Martin returned to the championship lead.

Marco Bezzecchi won the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika, leading an Aprilia result that occupied all four places at the front. The outcome reshaped the title picture once again: Jorge Martin finished the weekend back at the head of the world championship.
The result followed a Sprint that had gone badly for Aprilia. Martin lost the lead while running ahead because of a tyre-pressure problem, and Marc Marquez won the shorter race to take a four-point advantage. Ai Ogura finished second between Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, making him the only Aprilia rider on that Sprint podium.
Speed through a difficult build-up
Bezzecchi had already set the pace in warm-up, finishing ahead of Raul Fernandez. Fernandez was carrying a fractured finger after his contact with Bezzecchi at Turn 1 of the Sprint and was struggling with his right hand. He nevertheless remained quick enough to lead the session briefly, before Bezzecchi reclaimed the top spot on the final lap.
Martin added another setback with a crash in warm-up, ending the session in the gravel trap. Aleix Espargaro, HRC’s stand-in rider, then withdrew from the Grand Prix after experiencing physical difficulties during the Sprint. The warm-up tyre choice was uniform: every rider used a soft front and a medium rear.
Mandalika also remains a circuit where Bezzecchi holds the fastest race-lap record, a 1m 28.832s lap set in 2025. His 2026 victory and Aprilia’s complete sweep of the front four supplied the response the manufacturer needed after the missed Sprint opportunity. Martin, meanwhile, left the Indonesian round back in the championship lead.
