QJMotor recorded 102,165 sales between January and July 2026, an increase of 40.5% compared with the same period a year earlier. The total is equivalent to approximately 76% of the brand’s full-year 2025 global sales, providing a clear measure of how quickly its volume has built during the current period.

The international picture was broadly positive but not uniform. Nine of the ten major markets covered by the figures reported growth. Germany led the listed increases at 266.9%, followed by Malaysia at 226.2%, Mexico at 113.5% and France at 102.5%. Sales also rose in Poland by 39.0%, China by 30.1%, Spain by 21.7%, Italy by 21.1% and Greece by 12.7%. The United States was the exception among the ten, with sales down 13.9%. Several of the markets therefore recorded triple-digit growth, although the available figures do not establish the contribution of each country or model.

From Qianjiang to QJMotor

The company’s current expansion sits within the history of Qianjiang Motorcycle Group, which was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Wenling, in China’s Zhejiang province. The group is described as one of China’s important two-wheeler manufacturers. Qianjiang acquired the Italian brand Benelli in 2005, a move presented as an important step towards internationalisation. Benelli subsequently developed international activity for the group, particularly in Europe.

Geely, a major Chinese carmaker, acquired Qianjiang in 2016. That change is associated with a stronger base for product development, brand positioning and international expansion. The evidence does not establish that Geely alone caused the later sales growth.

A sharp rise in reported sales

The figures show a steep increase from the start of the QJMotor export-oriented identity in 2020. Sales stood at 4,128 units in 2020, then rose by 231.1% in 2021 to 13,667 units. In 2022, sales increased by 495.4% to 81,365 units—described in the article as almost a sixfold increase compared with the previous year.

Sales fell by 25.8% in 2023, when QJMotor recorded 60,392 units, before stabilising in 2024 at 60,544 units, a 0.3% increase over 2023. The recovery was substantial in 2025: sales climbed 121.8% to 134,286 units, a new record and approximately 65% above the previous high set in 2022. Compared with 2020, the 2025 total represented an increase of more than 32 times.

The Qianjiang and QJMotor names refer to different phases or identities of the same broader group, and their formal corporate relationship is not clear. Since 2020, the group has promoted its own products internationally under the QJMotor identity, with a range described as covering scooters, cruisers, enduro motorcycles and supersport models. The company continues to present new models across these two-wheeler categories. Sales data alone, however, cannot establish market share, profitability, reliability, technical performance or rider satisfaction.
