Furygan has launched the Fury Airbag Lady, its first motorcycle airbag designed specifically for women. Development included feedback and fitting sessions with female riders. The company’s stated aim was to reduce the compromises between protection, comfort and fit that can arise when a more generic design is adapted to different body shapes.

The system combines a women-specific fit with ultra-stretchable side panels intended to accommodate different physiques. Furygan describes it as the lightest airbag system in its range, while its mesh and airmesh construction is claimed to provide 100 per cent ventilation. Five detection modes are available: Road, Track, Adventure, Motocross and Adventure Race, allowing the same unit to be configured for different riding environments.

In&Motion’s smart, self-learning technology manages the airbag system. Furygan claims that it detects a crash and triggers inflation in less than 0.06 seconds. The protection is designed to cover the neck, chest, abdomen and spine. The range of modes also means the product is intended for more than conventional road riding.

After deployment, the inflator can be replaced by the rider. The airbag itself can be triggered up to five times before the bladder needs replacing. Furygan says the Fury Airbag Lady is compatible with all motorcycle jackets. It will be offered in Black/Emerald Green, in sizes S through 2XL, with a recommended retail price of £369.99.
