Dainese Smart GO brings tether-free Level 2 airbag protection
The 780-gram electronic vest detects dangerous dynamics independently, draws power from an OTG-ready smartphone or power bank, and can integrate with a 15-litre backpack.

Dainese has introduced Smart GO, an electronic airbag vest designed to provide Level 2 protection for everyday riding without a physical connection to the motorcycle. The vest weighs 780 grams with its gas generator included, and Dainese says its construction is intended to make airbag protection easier to wear, carry and store away from the bike.
Electronic protection without a tether
Smart GO is certified to EN 1621-4 for Level 2 protection of the chest and back. It is designed to work without a rigid back protector, while its electronic system monitors the rider’s dynamics independently and activates the airbag in milliseconds when required. Dainese bases the system on its D-air algorithm, developed for road riding and light off-road use.
The airbag uses Dainese’s Diaframma construction, which is intended to produce homogeneous inflation across the whole coverage area. The vest’s design also allows full ventilation, an important consideration for a product intended for regular use in warm conditions. Smart GO is fully electronic and does not require a separate charging routine: it can be powered directly by an OTG-ready USB-C smartphone or by a dedicated ultra-slim power bank. Dainese gives the latter an autonomy of up to 72 hours in use.
One size, adjustable fit and everyday storage
The vest comes in one size and uses adjustable straps to accommodate different body shapes. It can be worn over or under a motorcycle jacket or casual jacket, and its packable construction allows it to fit inside a backpack, beneath a scooter seat or in a motorcycle bag. The gas generator is user-replaceable up to three times, according to Dainese.
The system is managed through the Dainese D-air app. A USB-C cable in the vest’s large pocket connects it to the selected power source, while the phone or power bank supplies the operating energy. This arrangement removes the need for a dedicated charging cycle for the vest itself, although the external power source remains part of the system when the product is in use.
A magnetic 15-litre backpack
Dainese is also offering a dedicated 15-litre backpack designed to work with Smart GO. It has a water-resistant construction, an organizer, a laptop pocket and an external pocket. A magnetic attachment system allows the bag to be connected to or detached from the vest in seconds, giving Smart GO a carrying solution that can be used both on and away from the motorcycle.
Prices
The Smart GO vest, including its gas generator, is priced at €349 or $409. The dedicated power bank costs €39 or $49, a spare gas generator is €69 or $79, and the water-resistant backpack is listed at €129 or $149.
