Akrapovic is moving beyond exhaust components with its Adventure Footpeg Set, a new pair of footpegs for adventure motorcycles. The pegs use Grade 5 titanium and have removable rubber inserts, allowing the contact surface to suit different types of riding. Visordown reports that Akrapovic casts them at the same foundry and uses the same materials as it does for its exhaust systems and end cans.

The stated Grade 5 titanium composition is 90 per cent titanium, 6 per cent aluminium and 4 per cent vanadium. Akrapovic associates the material with high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. The detachable rubber inserts are aimed especially at riders covering long motorway distances. The titanium construction is also lighter than conventional steel footpegs, although Visordown points out that the resulting performance benefit is limited rather than transformative.
